Michael McGovern is a freelance web designer from Connecticut who has developed several websites for departments and programs at the University of Hartford, from which he recently earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Multimedia Web Design and Development, with a minor in Visual Communication Design.

Michael specializes in the front-end design of websites, taking a client’s ideas and concepts and bringing them into realization on screen. Michael’s strengths lie in the areas of XHTML/CSS and cross-browser compatibility, however he is also experienced in PHP/MySQL and javaScript, including the jQuery framework.

While Michael is not busy with the web his interests include music, camping, hiking, biking, and the outdoors in general. Michael plays drums and guitar, and does not go camping, hiking, or biking nearly enough. Two of Michael’s goals are to start a web consulting agency, and to write a book about web design. Michael refers to himself in the third person.
